Privacy Policy

Overview

PandaWatch ("we", "our", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application for monitoring Bambu Lab 3D printers. The App is designed with a "local-first" philosophy to minimize data collection.

Information We Collect & Transmit

To provide its core functionality, the App handles the following information:

1. Account Information: Your Bambu Lab email and password are used solely to obtain an authentication token directly from Bambu Lab's servers. Your password is never stored by the App after the initial login.
2. Identifiers: We transmit your Bambu Lab User ID and email to Bambu Lab's Cloud API and MQTT services to identify your printers and receive status updates.
3. Device Details: Printer IP addresses, serial numbers, and model names are used to establish local and cloud connections.
4. Locally Stored Data: Authentication tokens, printer nicknames, and app preferences are stored securely on your device.

Device Permissions

The App requests the following permissions to function:

• Local Network: Used to discover and connect to your printers via your home network (LAN).
• Photo Library (Add Only): Used if you choose to save a snapshot or video frame from your printer's camera. These images are saved directly to your library and are not transmitted to us.
• Background Refresh: Allows the App to update printer status (like "Print Finished") while the app is in the background.

Third-Party Services

The App is an independent tool that connects directly to the following third-party infrastructure:

• Bambu Lab: Cloud API and MQTT services for printer connectivity. Your data is transmitted directly between your device and Bambu Lab.
• Sentry: Used for diagnostic crash reporting and performance monitoring to help us maintain app stability.

We do not operate any intermediate servers, nor do we intercept or store your printer data. Please refer to the respective privacy policies of these services for more information.

Data Security

Your credentials and printer information are stored securely on your device using platform-specific secure storage (iOS Keychain, Android Encrypted SharedPreferences).

Data Sharing & Analytics

• No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your information with any third parties.
• Crash Reporting: We use Sentry to collect anonymous diagnostic reports when the app crashes or encounters a critical error. This information is used solely to improve the stability of the App and does not include your personal information or printer data.

Your Rights & Data Retention

You have complete control over your data. You can clear all app data and log out at any time settings. Uninstalling the App will also remove all locally stored data. We do not retain any of your data after you delete it from the App.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
